Pòrtic Eufònic from August 29th to September 1st

As it is already a tradition in Eufònic, the weekend before the central days of Eufònic presents the artistic installations in other towns, museums or temporarily enabled spaces that welcome works of international artists and special performances.

On Thursday, August 29, “Ad lib” by the Italian sound artist Michele Spanghero is presented at Castell del Ulldecona church, a sound sculpture that sounds and reacts to the rhythm dictated by an artificial respiration machine; on Friday, August 30, Roc Jiménez de Cisneros, master of computer music, presents “sense títol” at Museu de Tortosa, a laser installation that refers to rave culture; and on Saturday August 31, the Scottish artist Kathy Hinde will present “Phase transition” at Centre d’Art Lo Pati in Amposta, a sculptural sound installation that aims to raise awareness of global climate change and the greenhouse effect. That same day in the center of Amposta, Óscar de la Fuente, artist selected in the call for artistic residences this year, will present “Piedras del Camino”, a subtle reflection about the roads of the Delta and the sound memories.

Closing the preview of Eufònic on Sunday September 1, the performance of The Sara Fontán in the imposing Castell de Miravet: a very special performance where the violin of Sara (amplified, looped and passed by a thousand effects), accompanied by Edu Pou, the drummer de Za!. It will resonate between the walls of the church of the Templar castle, between post-rock and contemporary classic, between noise and minimalism, between the most tender and the harshest moments.
