The music of this Marseille duo is an original and incendiary fusion of dubstep, club electronica, experimental rap, and traditional music from the MENA region. Last October they released their first album, Dounia, a work that stands out for the meticulous sound design by Sinclair Ringenbach when combining electronic beats, crystalline vocals, and percussive impulses, as well as for the lyrics that Vanda Forte sings and recites: stories between reality, fantasy, the trauma of the colonial experience, and old ghost stories. Vanda sings in various Arabic dialects (Moroccan, Egyptian, Syrian, etc.) and addresses topics such as mental health, racism, gender segregation, resilience, and the abomination of war from an intimate and visceral angle. We love ‘em!
