Testing the limits of audibility and intentionality, crys cole‘s creations focus on the delicate textures and complex sound environments that surround us. In this two-days workshop, the Canadian artist based in Berlin proposes to explore the possibilities offered by listening as a compositional tool; an attentive listening committed to the most intimate and often overlooked sounds in the world around us. Amongst many things she will discuss using a listening practice as a way to consider different approaches when composing and the possibilities of space, dimensional and movement which can be applied in our own works.

Over the past two decades Cole has performed & exhibited worldwide. She has collaborated with a great array of artist over the years including Tetuzi Akiyama, Annea Lockwood, David Rosenboom, Francis Plagne, Keiji Haino, Leif Elggren, Felicia Atkinson, and has ongoing duos with Oren Ambarchi, and with James Rushford as Ora Clementi.
