What will happen when all insects become extinct? Will we have to invent them? Will we still exist ourselves? From these questions arises this sound installation, the result of the Eufònic / Lo Pati 2024 creative residencies. Robotic insects inhabit an invented sound landscape in an artistic investigation into the relationship between the sound of aquatic insects and the ecological quality of water. A plausible fiction that also serves as a parody of techno-optimism and the worship of technology as an environmental problem. Miguel Aparicio‘s artistic trajectory spans audiovisuals, experimental cinema, and sound creation (soundscaping, interactive installations, and sound synthesis), as well as programming languages and interactivity using tools like Max/Msp, Supercollider, and Arduino.
