Néfur composes and performs ecosomatic experimental music, combining her voice with the manipulation of sounds from vulnerable ecosystems. Her work intertwines environmental awareness, sensual connection with nature, and feminine erotic empowerment. She composes for dance-theater, video art, and performance, regularly collaborating with other musicians in improvisation-based concerts throughout Europe. In 2023, she presented collaborative works at music festivals such as CTM (Berlin) and Sonar (Barcelona). And now, shortly after premiering it in London as part of the Spitalfields contemporary and experimental music festival, she will present “The Water, The Lover (TWTL)” at Eufònic, an album and performative show where avant-garde music and ecosexuality coexist. Composed solely with the sounds of Icelandic glaciers, it addresses climate change and erotic empowerment. Its various episodes create a contemporary mythology that explains the sensual relationship between humans and non-humans, in search of sensory connection with oneself and the landscape.
