The term noema comes from Greek and means ‘thought’ or ‘that which is thought’. Aristotle understood noema as a thought object. Similarly, Husserl defined noema as the mental object generated by a thought, judgment, or perception. According to Husserl, all intentional acts produce noetic content. The noema, in a sense, is a mysterious mental poem, an immeasurable psychic object of unknown nature. A poem that is and is not. A poem whose location we do not know, or which, according to the premises of quantum physics, is simultaneously in my mind and in the other’s mind. In any case, we will certainly be able to find the creators of this poetic action in the Ribera woods.

Gabriel Ventura (Granollers, 1988) is a writer and artist. His work often starts from poetry and expands in other directions such as action, chronicle, video, or research. His latest publications include “W” (2017), “Apunts per a un incendi dels ulls” (2020), and “La nit portuguesa” (2021). He is also the author of “Passió i cartografia per a un incendi dels ulls,” a text-action performed at MACBA in 2022, and the short film “Els miracles del mestre Cabestany” (2023), co-directed with Rosa Tharrats.

Rosa Tharrats’ (Barcelona, 1983) artistic practice explores material synchronicities through weaving, sculpture, painting, and performance. She starts from the premise that objects, whether natural or artificial, possess an unexplored subjectivity and can establish an organic relationship with us. She likes to think of matter as an identity of soul and vibration. She often creates through the interaction between the mineral, the vegetal, and the industrial. Other recurring themes in her work are transformation, symbiosis, process, compilation, base, the union of microscopic and macroscopic life, the visible and the invisible, the search for the subtle balance between materials, and the contrast between the ethereal and the wild. Recently, she has exhibited at MACBA, Bombon Projects, TBA21, and Manifesta 15.

A piece in collaboration with Manifesta 15 Barcelona Metropolitana, the European nomadic biennial, which will take place from 8 September to 24 November in 12 cities in Catalonia.
