The prestigious Swedish composer and sound artist based in Amsterdam will hold a workshop of field recordings within Eufònic Campus 2023. His recent work focuses on the sounds of nature and how they affect humans, and we have suggested him to explore how capturing sound ecosystems can reflect the current ecological and social crisis. In his most recent projects, Nilsen has documented the acoustic real of urban environments, industrial geography and mining in the Arctic region of Norway and Russia. In more than 30 years of experience, he has made soundtracks for theater, dance and film, and has edited his works in excellent labels such as Touch, Ash International, Editions Mego and Cold Meat Industry. He has also collaborated with an old friend of ours as the master of field recordings Chris Watson (who spent three days recording in natural spaces of the Delta within Eufònic Campus 2028) and a couple of much-missed artists: the percussionist Z’ev and the soundtracks composer Jóhann Jóhannsson.

This workshop is addressed to people who are already a bit familiarized with soundscaping tools and practices.
