A Pòrtic Eufònic full of art, music, and gastronomy with Eufònic Terra!

This year’s Pòrtic, a weekend prelude to the festival, takes place from July 4th to 7th and is packed with concerts and sound actions connected to the landscape, heritage, and gastronomy of the territory, forming part of the Eufònic Terra programming line. It is an artistic celebration of the uniqueness of the region, featuring tapas, drinks, and food related to D.O.P Baix Ebre / Montsià olive oil and I.G.P clementines. To make sure you don’t miss anything, we’ll tell you about it day by day!

THURSDAY, JULY 4: ULLDECONA AND CAMPREDÓ

We invite you to visit the Old Olive Oil Mill in Ulldecona. At 7:00 PM, the installation “The Shape of Water” by Marie-France Veyrat and Jaime de los Ríos will be inaugurated, just before Basque singer and composer Sara Zozaya blends Basque musical tradition with electronic pop-folk. For this occasion, Xocola’t pastry shop has reinterpreted the classic snack of olive oil and chocolate, and we will enjoy Lo Flamenk mandarin cream liqueur.

Later in the afternoon, we will head to Campredó, where collaboration with luthiers festival Mestràlia begins. At 9:00 PM, the Mapasonor association will present a sound performance at the train station building, including recordings of Campredó’s life and oral history of the village. Following this, at the village’s bullring, Mediterranean folk-pop by Mar Pujol will be accompanied by Forés & Cid sausage, Mas de les Vinyes wine, and bread from Forn de Pa Gisbert. All topped off with a selection of soul and exotic grooves by DJ Goodfellah.

At 12:00 PM, Albert Barqué-Duran will present the sound action “Slowly Fading into NÈCTAR” at the Corros de Sant Roc, based on the process he undergoes with clementines. You have to see it to believe it! Afterward, we’ll have a vermouth at the Hermitage accompanied by the legendary DJ Rosario and Magalí Datzira, offering her jazz vision infused with funk, pop, and urban influences. And of course, we’ll enjoy good food and drink: tapas from the Food Truck Hotel del Delta, croquettes from D’Ruta Food, and Lo Bernat vermouth from Terra Alta.

SUNDAY, JULY 7: LA SÉNIA, GANDESA, ULLDECONAThe final day of Pòrtic Eufònic will start among olive trees at 11:30 AM in La Sénia with a sound action created by Carlos Martorell, aka Shoeg, based on centuries-old olive trees, accompanied by a TERRA’M olive oil tasting. We’ll also indulge in tapas cooked with D.O.P. olive oil by local chef Vanesa Bustos and wine from La viblio (Amposta).

Apart from Eufònic Terra, in the evening you have two options: either go to Gandesa for an event commemorating historical memory and a tribute to the American composer and pioneer of mechanical music Conlon Nancarrow with a talk at the Memorial Museum of the Battle of the Ebro, followed by Francesc Torres‘ video projection (featuring unpublished images of the Lincoln Brigade and the Battle of the Ebro) and a player piano concert by Riccardo Massari Spiritini at Pati de les Escoles Velles, in collaboration with COMEBE (Memorial Consortium of the Battle of the Ebro Spaces) and CEBE (Center for Studies of the Battle of the Ebro); or alternatively, head up to the Ermita de la Pietat in Ulldecona where you can enjoy urban rhythms by YoungBoby & vierr, new wave-punk tunes by Los Yolos, and a non-stop DJ set by Priscila. Two completely different ways to end your Sunday!
