Let's open the gates of Eufònic 2023!

The time has come. Our 12th edition will run this Friday 18 with the Pòrtic Eufònicthree days of free musical and artistic activities in unique spaces of Ulldecona, Tortosa, Campredó and Miravet, as a preamble to the festival, which will be held from 24 to 27 August also in other towns of the Terres de l’Ebre as Amposta and Roquetes. Below we detail the programme of this first euphonic weekend

LIGHT AND METAPHYSICAL POP AT ULLDECONA CASTLE

This Friday 18, the engineer and master of light Antoni Arola will present his light installation “L’ull” (the eye) in the church of Ulldecona Castle (which can be seen every evening until 27/8), right before Marc Tinés (aka MTINES) will present the intimate electronic pop of “Els dies iguals”, a sophomore album where he traces a triangle between James Blake, Ferran Palau and Cupido.

YOUNG TALENT IN OUR VIRTUAL ROOM
From this Friday 18 and during all the days of the festival the visual designer and experimental Andrea Badia (aka nddr3) will present in our VIRTUAL ROOM “Erosió Digital”, a piece halfway the exhibition and the interaction that from 3D scanning and printing technologies it draws a parallel between the erosion that happens in nature and the loss of digital data. A project co-produced in the “Artist in Residence” program of MakerLab in the Interdisciplinary Research and Innovation Hub of UOC – Online University of Catalonia.

ANCESTRAL HEARTBEAT, ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE AND SONIC EXILE

This Saturday 19 we will go from the Museum of Tortosa -where we will enjoy the contemporary reinterpretation of traditional Mallorcan tunes by Júlia Colom and the installation in 3D and AI-based “Stream” by SHOOK Studio on the symbiosis between humans and the natural environment of the Delta de l’Ebre- to the Tower of Font de Quinto (Campredó) where musician Pablo Schvarzman and filmmaker Adriana Vila Guevara will audiovisually recreate different meanings of exile and historical memory.

VIOLIN IN A TEMPLAR CASTLE
On Sunday 20 we will close the Pòrtic Eufònic by the hand of the Catalan violinist Aloma Ruiz Boada. Also member of the English cult group Current 93, she will perform “Septem Verba”, her debut album full of thrilling melodies and gloomy sound effects that will resound among the walls of the imposing fortress of Miravet Castle.
