Pòrtic Eufònic: activities in unique spaces on the first weekend
Once again, Eufònic’s pre-festival programme will occupy unique spaces in the region, such as churches, old mills, modernist buildings, and a Templar castle. The artists confirmed for the Pòrtic Eufònic 2025 that we present below join the inauguration of the festival’s two main installations already announced: the new sound installation by Jana Winderen, one of the world’s most renowned sound artists and an expert in underwater recordings, at Lo Pati – Centre d’Art de les Terres de l’Ebre (Saturday 5th), and the sound installation by Galician artist Xoan-Xil López, focused on the sounds of nature, at the Antic Molí d’Ulldecona (Friday 4th). Both installations can also be visited during the festival’s main weekend.

Electronica and contemporary pop revisions
On Friday 4/7, the interior of the La Sénia church will host the piano and electronics of Madrid native Álvaro Corrochano, presenting his debut album “Patterns”: a work that blurs the line between electronica and contemporary instrumental music, imbued with deep melodies, interwoven synthesisers, and atmospheric vocals. On Saturday 5/7, the Tortosa Museum, the city’s former slaughterhouse built on land reclaimed from the river, will premiere the concert of Barcelona-born singer-songwriter of British and German origin Bianca Steck, a breath of fresh air to the indie folk-pop tradition with harp, piano, and cello; and in the Paüls church we’ll welcome the pop delicacy, as experimental as it is emotional, of Júlia Collado Riu, and a selection of neo-funk and future beats courtesy of DJ Kryper during vermouth time.
Folklore, avant-garde, memory
Historical memory is a must at the Pòrtic Eufònic. On Saturday 5/7, in collaboration with the Consortium for the Memory of the Battle of the Ebro (COMEBE), the Civil War trenches of Xerta will be activated with “Sòl Pell Paret”: a sound action that pianist Haize Lizarazu and musician Anxe Faraldo will perform using small motors and recycled smartphones which, in an accumulative way, generate an immersive and changing acoustic situation.
On Sunday 6/7, in the magnificent Miravet Castle, we’ll delve into “Neu Om”, the debut of Cantabrian artist Amanda Mur. Melodies that navigate between dark folklore and the avant-garde, between medieval music and ambient, based on strings, piano, processed voices, and synthetic textures. We’ll also fall hypnotised in the homage to composer, electronic pioneer, and mystical thinker Pauline Oliveros by Isabel Latorre & Edu Comelles: an electronic journey full of harmonies, voices, and the omnipresent accordion.
This is Pòrtic Eufònic. Step right in, then!
