OLEA is a living digital seed: a blockchain token turned into DNA and introduced into olive oil, intertwining art, biotechnology, and speculative agriculture to imagine new connections between humanity and nature, memory and cultivation, code and land. Its creator is new media conceptual artist Solimán López (Burgos, 1981), who specializes in art, science, sociology, Web 3.0, and technology.
He is currently Director of Innovation at ESAT (Escuela Superior de Arte y Tecnología, Valencia) and an artist at the Institute for Future Technologies (Pôle universitaire Léonard de Vinci, Paris). His artistic practice includes work with AI, DNA, electronics, interactivity, and 3D, as well as creations such as the intangible art museum Harddiskmuseum and the Manifesto Terrícola project.
