The great Toni Jodar will revisit his contemporary body, “twisting” it into the traditional dance steps of the Ebro region, joined by the formidable jota dancer Carme Balagué—who has been teaching across the region since 1986—and the manipulated sound of the dulzaina, played by multi-instrumentalist and educator Pau Puig Olives.
Jodar is a performer, dancer, and choreographer with a broad background working alongside a wide range of artists including Cesc Gelabert–Lydia Azzopardi, Albert Vidal, Carles Santos, Jerome Savary, Magda Puyo–Marta Carrasco, Joan Baixas–Jordi Sabatés, Àngels Margarit, Juan Carlos García, Dagoll Dagom, Comediants, and La Fura dels Baus, among others. He is currently co-director and “dance explainer” of the Explica Dansa project, which is dedicated to audience development and dance education. He also creates site-specific performances for festivals, museums, and art galleries.
