Flamante is the musical research and sound experimentation project around flamenco of the artist, DJ and producer based in Granada Derek Van Den Bulcke. Through live improvisation, he decodes flamenco singing in a rhythmic and electronic key incorporating resources such as sampling, appropriationism or glitch. Contemporary electronic sounds intermingle with the dance, the breathing and the percussion that comes from the shoes of the dancer, choreographer and researcher Carmen Muñoz. Their piece “Theory of Flamenco” has been previously performed at Museo del Prado (Madrid), C3A (Córdoba) and Antic Teatre (Barcelona).
