Every night, the Delta de l’Ebre becomes an invisible highway for migrating birds. They pass above us while we sleep, leaving only brief flight calls that cut through the silence. Alba Tormo’s project starts from this almost imperceptible phenomenon and turns it into light.
During her Eufònic / Lo Pati 2026 residency, she will work with recordings of nocturnal bird migration —known as nocmig— to detect migratory flows crossing the Delta de l’Ebre. From these recordings, she will develop a light installation where migratory patterns are translated into rhythms of light, making visible the life that moves through the territory when we cannot see it.
The project is developed in collaboration with ornithologist Oriol Soler Ferrer, who has decades of experience studying and monitoring birds and collaborates with the Institut Català d’Ornitologia. He will contribute field data and expertise on migration in the Delta de l’Ebre.
