Aluet is a beach in the Delta de l’Ebre, inhospitable, fragile, with captivating beauty, and always threatened by the next storm. It is also the name and image chosen by the pianist from Amposta, Josep Vidal, for his most intimate and personal musical project, combining his classical training with his passion for electronic music: calm tunes of minimalistic melodies, hypnotic loops, Minimoog arpeggios, bucolic landscapes, and melancholic waltzes, always with the piano as the protagonist. A musical activist by nature, he has played in countless groups – rock, jazz, swing, electronic, experimental – and currently combines his artistic facet with teaching Music Theory at the Conservatory of Vall d’Uixó. At Eufònic, he will present his two albums released in 2023: “Sturm” (Tutu Records) and “Nada Fácil” (with Nanaho, Borx records), accompanied by the Ensemble Vidal, a very young trio of double bass, cello, and viola formed by Maria, Neus, and Marc Vidal (aged between 14 and 16), and also by actress Fuensanta López as narrator, who will guide us with her voice through the remote landscapes of Aluet’s sonic imagery.
