With Arnau Casanoves and les Fletxes Xiuladores, archery becomes a score. Through whistling arrows, continuous drones and the synchronized action of a quintet of archers, the piece unfolds as a composition somewhere between a concert, a ritual and a performance.
Each shot cuts through the air, traces a trajectory and leaves a sonic trail that turns the open space into a field of listening. Moving through distance, repetition and variation, the piece works with gesture, tension and displacement to build an acoustic and visual experience that is as precise as it is unstable.
Arnau Casanoves
Arnau Casanoves comes from the workshop, from craft, and from the blending of languages. His practice moves across sculpture, sound, robotics and manual techniques to shape pieces where matter, gesture and device are set in tension.
He works through the friction between industrial processes and more immediate, physical and direct ways of making, developing a hybrid body of work that resists settling into any single discipline. His universe moves between a pop sensibility, an acidic tone and a constant tension between enthusiasm and unease, proximity and distance.
