Warning: at the Església Nova of La Ràpita there will be a storm. But instead of thunder, wind and lightning it will be a storm of cinematic synths, drifting cello strings and brutalist rhythms. Few know how to transmit so much emotion from abstraction as does this composer originally from London who found in Queensferry (Scotland) and in nature the strength and musical direction 15 years ago. “The Hum” (Village Green, 2020) is the vigorous sixth album under his own name of a solid discography that adds up to eleven references, counting those released as Talvihorros. Chatwin also composes bespoke music for film, TV, theatre and dance, having worked with the BBC, HBO, Warp Films, Tate Modern and the Scottish Ballet.
