Björt Rúnarsdóttir is an Icelandic cellist and composer based in Barcelona but born and raised in her hometown Reykjavík. She received her education in the classical world, but alongside her classical studies she has always explored alternative paths within the experimental world developing her own language. Her music is characterized by fine layered webs of sounds formed by the natural sound of the cello processed with effects recorded and re-recorded live, creating delicate atmospheres which on occasions she accompanies with her voice, keyboards, pre-recorded rhythms and nature field recordings. A search and investigation of textures, experimental, atmospheric and subtle.
