Halfway between percussion and electronics, reConvert is a project that rejects generic definitions and since 2013 is constantly evolving in terms of techniques, instruments and interfaces at the service of creation and the redefinition of the percussion repertoire of the last 7 decades. Conceived in Basel (Switzerland) together with sound artist Fabrizio Di Salvo, “(ex)tension” is a piece and sound installation with 49 solenoid motors controlled by two heterodox percussionists such as reConvert members Roberto Maqueda and Lorenzo Colombo. Technology as an extension of the human organism and fruit of the search for a three-dimensional and analog sound system from instruments and customized industrial devices that move sound in space.
