From the reading of the poetry collection “Si una emergència” (If an emergency) (Carles Riba Prize 2023) and some poems from her previous books, Mireia Calafell vindicates the double meaning of the word “emergency”: it implies an end, yes, but also a sprouting, an opportunity. The pianist, composer and producer Nil Ciuró embraces the verses with sound to take them further with melodies and textures that combine melancholy, minimalism and electronic and experimental rhythms, now darker, now brighter. In this impressive presentation they are accompanied by the Catalan audiovisual design studio Oscila, experts in transforming spaces through lighting techniques.
