Santiago Latorre is an Aragonese artist and engineer interested in how organic affects all phases of the sound event, from its composition and generation to its perception. This is manifested in projects such as the Sonification of the Human Genome, the private performance “A pie de cama” (songs to be sung in the ear to one or two people lying on bed), or in their solo albums “Orbita” (Accretions, 2008) and “Ecliptic” (Foehn, 2011) that explore cycles and physical forces that impact our perception. The vocal manipulation marks his most recent work, “Architecture of Friendship” (Foehn, 2022), a collective project with Colombian artist Atabey Mamasita and singers Colin Self and Nieves Arilla that awakens hope and encourages the practice of rest, care and empathy.
