Between acoustic memory, embodied listening and an almost physical understanding of sound, Norwegian artist Siri Austeen develops installations and performances that transform space into a shared experience of attention. Working with field recordings, voice, resonant objects and multichannel structures, her practice explores how sound alters perception, activates memory and connects body, landscape and ecology.
Curated by Arnau Horta, “What Is Moved Moves” is built around a series of hand-painted car windshields fitted with contact speakers, transformed into sounding membranes within a multichannel installation that functions both as a sound piece and as a latent stage. Faithful to its origin, the work changes according to each site and context; for Eufònic, Austeen will develop a site-specific version shaped by the materials and conditions of the space. At Molí d’Ulldecona, the artist will also activate the performative intervention “Not Homeless, But Without a Permanent Residence”, a piece connected to movement, coexistence and polyphony through voice, field recordings and her characteristic instrument: the saxopet.
