Born in Kaifeng and based in London, Yu Su is a musician, DJ, sound artist and occasional cook. In recent years, she has become one of the most distinctive voices in the global electronic scene, with a practice that moves across ambient, club music and sonic experimentation. This has led her to perform at festivals such as Dekmantel, Brunch Electronik and Les Nuits Sonores, appear on the cover of Mixmag —becoming the first Chinese artist to do so—, compose music for Jimmy Choo, and release work on labels ranging from Technicolour (Ninja Tune) to the delicate Music From Memory. Having her perform at the Casal, in a live AV format on Friday at midnight, will be an honour.
