Eufònic 2025

The first confirmations for Eufònic 2025 are here!

AV shows and artistic actions that transform the landscape

Eufònic’s 14th edition, held from July 10th to 13th in Terres de l’Ebre, focuses on AV shows in auditorium format and revisited traditions of intangible heritage, key and identifying elements of the festival.

With the singularity of the landscape as a distinctive feature, the festival will feature AV shows, concerts, artistic installations, sound actions, landscape performances, and educational activities, both indoors and outdoors, in museum or heritage spaces temporarily adapted for the occasion.

Audiovisual events at the Amposta Auditorium

Eufònic 2025 is significantly committed to audiovisual and light performances at the Amposta’s La Lira Auditorium, a space that will host various proposals such as the new AV show by Murcof, a key figure in contemporary electronic music, or the Arab-French duo Caïn و Muchi, who will present their debut album, “Dounia” (2024), a sonic and visual journey between industrial penumbra, dubstep and grime.

Music: a journey from delicacy to the power of rhythm

The musical offering of this 14th edition ranges from the most ethereal delicacy to more intense sounds. London-based Japanese artist Hinako Omori will present a landscape electronic inspired by the sounds of nature. In a more poetic vein, Mireia Calafell and Nil Ciuró, with lighting design by Marc Arroyo, will offer a show that fuses poetry and electronica, with verses from Calafell’s “Si una amergència” (Carles Riba Prize 2023), accompanied by a soundtrack that combines melancholy and electronic rhythms. In contrast, French musician and producer Mézinc will present his latest album, “Racine”, with an immersive show that blends analog synthesizers and lights to create a multi-sensory journey.

Art installations with the fragility of the Delta in sight

The soundscape of the Delta and its fragility are the starting point for three installations that connect art and ecology.

Jana Winderen, a prestigious Norwegian sound artist, will present an immersive sound installation co-produced with the Lo Pati Art Center and curated by Arnau Horta, created specifically for Eufònic, which reflects on the fragility of the Delta ecosystem through underwater recordings made over twelve months. On the other hand, Andrea Badia, a Barcelona-based new media artist, will investigate the effect of human noise on plant species with “Destructive Aesthetics”, a proposal that infiltrates noise pollution data from Barcelona into plants made with 3D design. Finally, Núria Rovira, as a result of the Eufònic / Lo Pati creative residency, will present “Dream Catcher”, an installation that explores the relationship between time, natural balance and the human footprint through the traditional eel fishing traps.

New folk from the Ebro region and revisited traditions

The reinterpretation of folklore and traditions from a contemporary perspective is a recurring theme at Eufònic. The group Terrae will present “Riuada” in an olive grove, an album that fuses traditional music from the Ebro region with electronic music. The renowned artist and cultural producer Marc Vives, in residence in the Delta, will create “SSSSS”, a series of actions based on voice and space to explore the relationship with the soundscape, turning the vocal act into an immersive experience. Vanessa Roca will present an art installation about collective memory and identity of resistance through the “goigs” (popular devotional songs) dedicated to Saint Roch, and Cristian Subirà will investigate the impact of sound on ecosystems with “Signal Extraction”. Finally, João de Nóbrega Pupo will propose a sound walk to connect with the landscape of l’Encanyissada.

Body, sound, and movement actions

Eufònic also explores the dialogue between context and movement, making the body a tool for interpreting the environment. The Catalan-Japanese duo Park Keito will present “Yukendo Yukendo,” a performance inspired by the tanka poems of Takahide Nishiwaki, where the choreographic and sound journey gives shape to new poetic landscapes. And the dancer and performer Glòria Ros will present “Algo poroso” an improvised performatic experiment that establishes a real-time dialogue between movement and sound, with the participation of the dancer and sound artist Anna Fontanet, the violinist Ariadna Torner, and the musician Joan Cot.
