Alba Matilla and Miguel Aparicio will get to know the territory through the Eufònic / Lo Pati creative residencies

This year we have received more than 60 proposals in the call for creative residencies Eufònic and Lo Pati 2024 to occupy the Balada creative residency space. We are especially happy to know that the territory, Lo Pati and Eufònic continue to be a generative space of culture that places creation at the centre and generates the interest of artists with such diverse profiles.

The results will be shown during the days of the festival, giving voice to the territory from the problems of the environment, the natural elements that characterize it and the voices of the inhabitants.

Alba Matilla – “El Santuario”

His work focuses on the study of the cognitive framework through which we perceive reality, starting from a psychological context. The environment, emotions, memory and different mental states are key concepts in her artistic production.

Alba Matilla‘s creative process is leading her to research from the analysis of the landscape, specifically, from the link between habitat and inhabitant. The feedback between exterior spaces and our interior space also plays an important role in her discourse insofar as it generates a constant cycle in which landscape and inhabitant mutually shape each other and build a unique and specific identity.

Miguel Aparicio – “Phonópteros”

Miguel Aparicio‘s career starts with audiovisual, experimental film and sound creation. All these disciplines are interconnected with programming languages and interactivity with Max/Msp, Supercollider and Arduino.

He is currently immersed in an artistic research project on the relationship between the sound of aquatic insects and the ecological quality of water, taking techno-optimism and the cult of technology as a starting point for environmental problems.

New features in the creative residencies 2024

As we already announced in the rules, the novelty this year is the commitment of this call for creative residencies Eufònic 2024 with the reinforcement of research and formalisation support fees, giving more weight to creation.
