Active in the sound art world since 2001, cabosanroque defy characterisation, thanks to their use of mechanical sound-making devices. Their work references Joan Brossa (“No em va fer”), Jacint Verdaguer (“Dimonis”) and, with this work, now Haydn – through a “collective destruction of a string quartet suspended from the ceiling while playing the String Quartet No 66 in G major (Opus 77)”. Fences, barricades and stones to take down the classical paradigm searching for hope, and destruction as a form of progress and collective creation.
