We complete the Eufònic 2025 lineup with DJs Cora Novoa and Mike Shannon closing the nights!
Two prestigious DJs, Cora Novoa and Mike Shannon, will be in charge of closing the Eufònic nights at the Sala de Ball of La Lira in Amposta. On Friday, July 11, Canadian producer Mike Shannon, now rooted in the Berlin scene, will showcase his technical skills blending deep house and minimal techno. On Saturday, July 12, it will be the turn of Galician producer, DJ, and creative Cora Novoa, who, after completing her “Mental Diary” trilogy with a spectacular audiovisual show at Sónar 2025, will land in Terres de l’Ebre with one of her elegant and energetic techno sets.

Cora Novoa
Double opening of Eufònic, at the Ebre Observatory and aboard the boat La Perla
Eufònic 2025 will kick off with two highly symbolic events. On Wednesday, July 9th, at 8:11 PM — the exact time the Valencian public received the alert on October 29th, 2024 — Néstor Calderer and Edu Comelles will perform a concert at the Ebro Observatory. They’ll use two grand pianos and electronics: one, muddied and damaged by the DANA storm in Paiporta, and the other, new. This sound proposal evokes resilience and memory through sound, an exercise in recovery and experimentation that highlights music’s power to bring new life where all seemed lost. Afterward, Edith Alonso and Elena Juárez will present an audiovisual piece exploring primordial chaos, the birth, and decomposition of the universe with electronics and digital art, projected onto the Observatory’s cement sphere. Between these two performances, DJ Wilko, from Tarragona, will play music during a dinner under the stars, served by the food truck from Les Moles, a Michelin-starred restaurant in Ulldecona.
The actual inaugural journey will take place on Thursday, July 10th, aboard the boat La Perla, navigating the Ebro River. It will feature the premiere of “Amniotic River,” a performative piece by Canadian-Korean Lina Choi. This creation, resulting from two residencies at L’Estruch and Terres de l’Ebre, investigates the sensory memory of water and amniotic fluid. Afterward, contemporary dancer and choreographer Toni Jodar and Ebro jota dancer Carme Balagué will unite contemporary and traditional dance with Pau Puig‘s dolçaina in “Alteració atorrollada.” Once on solid ground, the first night will conclude with a set by Barcelona-based Mexican producer Diego Alonso, known as s e r é n a t e, by the riverbank.

Iannis Anisakis
Sound Avant-garde: unorthodox hip-hop, industrial electronics, analog synths, and drone
On Friday, the 11th, young MC and producer LINS EFX will open the free stage at the Casino d’Amposta. The closing act will be Iannis Anisakis from Granada, presenting a show of abrupt, post-industrial rhythms and dramatic silences. On Saturday, the 12th, after Bella Báguena, another artist from Granada, Severine Beata, will manipulate synthesizers and Andalusian folk melodies.
This year, we’re also launching a dedicated space for drone music, a practice based on prolonged and sustained sounds with minimal variation, designed to create immersion and expanded listening. At the Casal d’Amposta, there’s a double feature in the dark: Marçal Xirau will present his new work “Unveiled,” and Johannes de Silentio will reinterpret Sappho’s verses based on Anne Carson’s work. Afterwards, in a natural setting and at dusk (aka mosquito o’clock), Scottish-Portuguese producer and artist SHHE will premiere a new, as-yet-untitled project using voice and modular synthesizer.

Solimán López: “OLEA”
More Installations and Genre-Bending Practices
Solimán López will unveil the expanded installation “OLEA” at the Fab Lab (Amposta), connecting art, biotechnology, and speculative agriculture: a digital token transformed into DNA and introduced into olive oil. Xesca Salvà & Marc Villanueva will cultivate a colony of microorganisms over several days in a liquid laboratory in the Casal’s courtyard. We’ll revive “Obra Morta”, by the beloved Ebro artist Leonardo Escoda, which was first presented in La Ràpita in 2022. Thalia Escribano will present “Entitats del llindar” (Threshold Entities) in our virtual space, an augmented reality experience that superimposes abstract figures onto everyday surroundings, where the physical and intangible converge.
On the boundary between performance art and living installation, Colombian-Olot artist Camila Sanjinés will activate “Mapa caníbal” (Cannibal Map) in the Ribera Forest (with two sessions, morning and afternoon). This performative reflection explores anthropophagy, territorial appropriation, and our relationship with the habitable landscape.
More Eufònic, more territory
Amposta will host even more activities: Claraguilar will perform with her alumni from the workshop held in May at the SGAE Foundation in Barcelona. Marta Barceló will lead a children’s watercolor workshop inspired by Jana Winderen’s sound piece. DJs like the combo Laura Victòria and Matilda and a synthwave and Italo disco connoisseur like Luis Costa will join the closing event at the Ermita de la Pietat in Ulldecona. Over the weekend, the Barcelona Community Radio Network will broadcast live from Plaça Ramon Berenguer in Amposta, featuring interviews with festival artists and participants.
We’ll also see the first results of Co-Vision, a European project launched last year: Lauren Moffatt, Jaume Vidal, and SHOEG will unveil the initial phases of their augmented reality work in Plaça de l’Aube. To delve even deeper, scientists Jordi Camp, Carles Ibáñez, and Vanessa Balagué will offer a guided tour and open conversation around Winderen’s sound piece, thus concluding an edition that combines science, art, and territory through listening.
