Adelaida, selected for CONFLUENCE CAT 2026
Adelaida’s expanded voice selected for the CONFLUENCE 2026 call
The second CONFLUENCE 2026 call for the Catalan side already has its selected artist: Adelaida. Known for taking the voice beyond singing, transforming it into living matter and sonic landscape, the Barcelona-based creator will travel to Québec this winter to develop her new project in an artistic residency at Avatar, culminating at the Mois Multi festival in February 2026.

A trajectory growing between lyricism and electronics
Trained in lyrical singing at the Orfeó Català and in jazz at the Taller de Músics, Adelaida has expanded the limits of the voice, turning it into a ritual and experimental instrument. With a Fine Arts degree from Central Saint Martins (London), she has created a universe where the voice intertwines with video and sound. Her work has been featured at festivals such as SheMakesNoise, Sónar, Primavera Sound, and BAM, with albums like Cántaro (2022) —presented at Eufònic with an unforgettable performance at La Ràpita’s Església Nova— and Muérdago (2024).
“Singing From Hell Through Heaven”: the voice as territory
The project Adelaida will continue developing in Québec investigates the operatic voice as an unstable, expansive force. In Singing From Hell Through Heaven, the voice fractures, multiplies, and transforms through choral and electronic layers to explore its expressive and emotional extremes. The residency at Avatar will culminate with a presentation at the Mois Multi festival in February 2026, where the voice will become an immersive experience.
CONFLUENCE: a creative bridge between Catalonia and Québec
The CONFLUENCE 2025 – 2027 residency program connects artists and territories through digital, visual, and sound arts. Driven by Eufònic, Avatar, and Mois Multi with the support of the Conseil des arts et des lettres du Québec (CALQ) and the collaboration of L’Estruch and the Institut Ramon Llull, the project establishes a long-term dialogue between two artistic scenes. Three years, six residencies, and a single purpose: to foster research, creation, and cultural exchange.
